Rooks ready for tough double header – Bloor

Lewes remain ‘on the right track’ ahead of their matches with the top two in the Ryman Premier Division, according to assistant boss Danny Bloor.

The Rooks will welcome league leaders Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday before entertaining second-placed Maidstone next Tuesday.

After a month off due to the inclement weather, Lewes returned to action in style on Sunday, thrashing basement dwellers Cray Wanderers 5-1.

Providing the weather holds off, the tough double header against Dulwich begins a busy run of two games a week until at least the end of April.

Bloor said: “Having had such a long period on inactivity it was great to return to action and the manner of our victory [against Cray] was very, very good.

“We’ve been training ever so hard and the attitude of all the players, and the coaching staff has been spot on so that result was reward for that.

“We now have two exciting games against the top two sides who both have big budgets and big aspirations.

“There is still 18 games to go and we are three points better off then at the same stage last season so we’re on the right track.”
