Rooks move for Horsham midfield Napper

Lewes have made Horsham midfielder Byron Napper their fourth new signing of the summer.

The 22-year-old scored five goals in 45 appearances for the Hornets last season but is now stepping up a level with the Rooks.

The former Crawley Town professional played nine times for the Reds in the Conference Premier, and also had a spell with Crawley Down Gatwick.

Lewes assistant manager Danny Bloor said: “He is a player we have been monitoring for a long time.

“Steve Evans and Craig Brewster thought highly of him at Crawley Town and we think he will be a big asset to our squad. He can play in a number of positions and has a desire to do well.”

Napper joins defenders Ollie Rowe, Sam Cole and Gary Elphick in a rapidly evolving Lewes squad.
