Ten commit but Carey and Gaskin quit Rebels

George Gaskin

Worthing have lost midfielder Lee Carey and striker George Gaskin but the majority of last season’s squad have committed to the club for the next campaign.

Carey, 27, will play Ryman Premier Division football with Tonbridge Angels while Gaskin (pictured) has returned to Littlehampton Town.

The Rebels return to pre-season training next week and boss Adam Hinshelwood has had assurances from many of the existing players.

Jack Fagan, Will Hendon, Corey Heath, Matt Hurley, Matt Piper, Brannon O’Neill, George Hayward, Lloyd Dawes, Harvey Sparks and Ben Pope have all said they will return.

Connor Cody, Mark Knee, Alex Parsons and Omar Bugiel are yet to confirm but Hinshelwood is hopeful they too will sign on for next season.

Worthing’s pre-season friendlies will include a match against Brighton & Hove Albion’s development squad on August 2 as well as trips to AFC Portchester and Arundel.
