Peacehaven ground declared fit for promotion
Peacehaven & Telscombe’s path to a historic promotion has been cleared after their Piddinghoe Avenue ground passed its inspection.
The Magpies are runaway leaders of Ryman Division One South and could win the title as early as Saturday if they beat Whitstable and Leatherhead lose at Herne Bay.
Even if that doesn’t happen, Peacehaven are almost certain to secure back-to-back promotions at some point this month, just a year after winning the Sussex County League.
And their ground has been cleared to host Ryman Premier Division football for the first time in the club’s history by the FA.
To secure the next stage of the grading, the club will have to increase the covered capacity of the ground to 500, from its current 300, by April 2015.
