Magpies sign Whitehawk’s El Abd and Fraser

Sami El Abd of Peacehaven & Telscombe

Peacehaven & Telscombe have signed Whitehawk pair Sami El Abd and James Fraser while confirming 10 of last season’s double-winning squad have agreed to stay.

Both the new arrivals were part of the Hawks squad that won the Ryman Premier Division in 2012-13.

Defender El Abd, the younger brother of former Brighton centre-back Adam, joins the Magpies after three seasons with the Hawks.

The 26-year-old, who has also played for Crawley Town and Hayes & Yeading, will boost the Magpies’ defence after Craig Richards moved to Miami.

El-Abd said: “Peacehaven have a really good existing squad and a great pitch.

“I look forward to playing here next season and becoming part of the team. ”

Midfielder Fraser was prolific for the Hawks when they won the Division One South title in 2011-12.

Once on the books of Bristol Rovers, the Brighton-born 25-year-old has played in Sussex for Lewes, Bognor, Eastbourne Borough and Eastbourne Town, in addition to brief loan spells at Tiverton Town and Sutton United.

Anthony Di Bernado, Jon Marzetti, Ash Jones, Steve Metcalf, Lloyd Cotton, Callum Saunders, Tom Burton, Josh Jones, Tom Lawley and James Hammond have all agreed terms for the new campaign.
